From iconic London landmarks like Borough Market, Battersea Power Station, the Trellick Tower and South Bank Jayson Lilley's art makes the ordinary look extraordinary. Jayson Lilley has developed a signature style utilising strong compositional form and a bold palette.
Inspired by London's architectural landscape, he uses a strong light source to create contrasting shadows that define the form of buildings. Reducing his subject matter to an image that conveys form, light and silhouette. With his signature bold colours, vibrant palette and illustrative approach, Lilley's graphic novel style certainly packs a punch.
Influenced by his BA (Hons) Degrees in visual communication, graphic design and advertising and a successful career of book cover design, his work also reflects his idyllic upbringing in a Devon seaside village as well as his now home town: London. Urban landscapes, social snapshots and countryside influences are a common theme in his paintings and print making.
Jayson Lilley has enjoyed great success in the last ten years with galleries worldwide and his art has been reproduced extensively as prints. Born in 1972, Jayson Lilley lives and works in London.
